Those are hours that I will get paid for, as it was official communication and mandatory to respond. We get paid hourly for everything mandatory. And no new information was sent that my supervisor (who is salary) didn’t already know.

I have now gotten a 4th clarification on how to respond to this email, including instructions that in part contradict what was previously stated.
As an intermittent employee, I did nothing last week, but now I have done hours of work answering these emails, and my management has done the same.

The email also does not specify that if you don’t respond it will be taken as a resignation.
