Upon entering my bathroom I saw that a ragged towel had spontaneously formed this shape with its threads. I honestly did not set this up - the universe just delivered it. I'm unsure if it's a warning to change my ways, or to pay protection, or to buy new towels. Perhaps I need to consult an oracle.

Mince pie kick-off! All manner of raisins, cranberries, dates, apples, lemons, oranges. Boil slowly, add brandy, put in sealed glass jars in fridge. Suet or fat, I discovered, is not needed. Which is handy, since suet is hard to get, and the meat-free one is full of palm oil. Roll on Christmas!

Stockholm's Skogskyrkogården (forest graveyard) last night, on All Saints Day. The whole place was a wonderland of light. We go there every year to light a candle and remember the dead. And every year that list grows longer.

Whenever I turn my dishwasher on, it shows me the number of minutes it plans to run for, and it's always some totally random value between 107 and 128. Why they installed my dishwasher with top-quality RNG I am not sure. I guess even dishwashers need an outlet for their creativity.

Writing update! A novella of mine has been accepted by a fantastically odd Stockholm publisher. Li'l Factory publish books in a single run of 500 numbered copies (500 and no more) and they are so very very pretty. My book "Spellcheckers" will be coming next year. More info to come. lilfac.com/books

An enormous* mushroom from the local woods. Most likely a björkticka / Fomitopsis betulina (previously Piptoporus betulinus for some reason) / birch bracket. We admired it and moved on.
