I finally watched Bring Her Back (2025) and while I found it moving, affecting, and at times uncomfortable, I did not find it at any point… scary. I had a good time, but I don’t anticipate many rewatches. Call me old fashioned, but I do like some horror in my horror films.

Instead of watching Bugonia (2025), just go watch Save The Green Planet! (2023). Theres not actually any reason it needed to be remade in English. Americans can in fact read subtitles, stop stooping down for these people.

Also, I do adore that Hemsworth in this is basically just the Black Mirror equivalent of Thor. I’m glad he got to claim the right all Australians are assigned at birth (it’s written on the back of our birth certificates, where our Rights of a Citizen used to be): the right to be in a Mad Max film.

I know this is an unpopular Nancy Drew opinion, but I liked the Gil Bobbsey character and I would have liked to see him grow and change alongside Nancy. I think they had a lot to share with each other. Ace is great, but Gil was an agent of chaos and I bet that would have gone interesting places.
