Not saying the university is bricking itself now but all of our senior reps teams have mysteriously decided that they can't release them anymore for union work and are now needed full time back at their desks which is entirely coincidental, I'm sure

On a better note though, our Unison ballot just came back and it's a 78% return rate with over 90% in favour of strike. Good luck running the uni when the entire academic administration section including the IT lads leave!

Oh that was the best, we have an entire department here who are so rude to my colleagues they routinely end up in tears talking to them and our managers just say "what can we do, that's just what they're like" as if that's fucking normal. I've worked here for 13 years and they've never changed.

Yeah, that's exactly it, I got told that anyone who doesn't have a degree is "a fucking moron" during a *team meeting* and this was in response to me complaining that the university spoke about offering staff free degrees but don't actually offer any part-time undergraduate ones.

Yeah, UCU can be snake cunts, I've had an academic call me a scab because I had to work on a strike day despite not being allowed to join the union lol. They hate dept admin regardless of what we do which makes it hard to give a shit now they want us out with them 🤷
