It was the most memorable game ending I think I’ve had. Certainly in the top three. It felt like I had accomplished something monumental with the music and the choices I had made culminating in that scene. I’ve kept Faunts in my playlist since 2010 because of that.

I think the jump from 1997 and Goldeneye to Half-Life a year later was also absolutely bonkers. And Halo 3 years after Half-Life. Shooters were moving so fast in that era!

Honestly, Proton has shown how capable translation has become. And versatile. Windows is dominant not because it’s good but because of legacy. A legacy they’ve been destroying. The holdouts keeping people using it are also self immolating like Adobe so people are just saying “fuck it” and moving on

Yeah I hope for nothing but an accelerated adoption of Linux as "the gaming OS" because let's be honest. People have been saying for decades that they'd switch to something else if it weren't for gaming or something they use for work. And the gaming users far outweigh the work users.
