Today's copium skill building is dehydrating cabbage. We like the flavor in things, but not the texture usually. So I'm hoping by dehydrating it, it'll just melt into soups etc or I can just grind to a powder and add.

Moving cross country is hard. And expensive. Especially when you don't drive due to vision issues.

Sigh....

Either we have to pare down to practically nothing or pay $1800 for a tiny pod. On top of already renting a van and paying friends to drive the pets up and our tickets up.

Sigh....

In an attempt to cope with everything, I'm focusing on working food preservation skills.

Today's project is dehydrating green onions. An entire dehydrator full of green onions finely chopped.

My eyes do not thank me. My house is basically very mild tear gas lol.

Well, at least the rage at tonight's edicts made for good cleaning.

Rage cleaning is surprisingly effective

Trying to funnel the energy into fortifying me and mine to endure. It's hard. Very hard. But I can only control what I can, and only do what I can do physically. So I added some more canned goods, noted a few more resources, and kept working on the goal of getting out of Texas.

My days as of late....

Wake up.
Check the news alerts from trusted sources.
Process while I fortify myself with coffee.
Check secondary sources to see what might be next in the pipeline.
Process those while doing chores.
Force myself to stop panicking because it doesn't help and scares my kids.

Am I the only one thinking that today's events just keep going on and on?

I don't remember it being more than a few hours with Biden. Today has been a full 8am to 5pm on every single channel, even PBS.
