Brian Glanville. A fantastic man to be around. Great company for anyone who wanted to know about football history. He’d come on the phone to me and I’d groan. I was going to fall behind in work but, by god, the next two hours would be entertaining

Brian Glanville was an absolute legend. To read his work was one thing, but to meet him and see him at work was another. A privilege.

A fantastic wordsmith and a brilliant journalist.

Once saw him file copy in 3 languages at Arsenal, while I struggled to do so in my own.

A literary genius. RIP
