Recently we biked 🚴‍♂️ along Florya’s coast & forest 🌳 in Istanbul during our Urban Cycling & Nature Observation workshop! Using citizen science apps like #iNaturalist & #BiciZen @spotteron.net, we tried to understand the local flora & fauna, passed monumental trees, and experienced urban cycling.

I am one of Istanbul’s oldest gum of the pistachio trees, known here as Dedeağaç. For more than 380 years I’ve lived in this forest, offering shade to visitors and standing beside my first friend, the cypress. Come rest under my branches—you won’t regret it

Yesterday, an 8.8 MW earthquake—the strongest worldwide in over a decade—struck Russia. Reports were also submitted in the QuakeWatch Austria #CitizenScience App by ZAMG.
