Somehow all the other people in this morning’s HYROX workout (OOF) are smiling in the picture while I am clearly still fully dissociated.

u heard sharon, everyone post about their esoteric interests right fucking now. for the good of the community, we need to be hyperfixationmaxxing.
i think this site really needs to figure out how to grow the non-politics verticals (the baseball moment was a good thing!) because i suspect a lot of the bad clusters come out of the political clusters driving 95% of ENG-lang posts
I'd be happy with big non politics accounts.

WHO GIVES A DAMN?

It’s a public service, right there in the name. It exists as a public good for all the people in this country. It’s not supposed to turn a profit, you dolts.

Go audit the Pentagon and see what kind of return on investment we’re getting there.

The USPS faces a tight squeeze. With fewer people using the mail, it’s lost more and more money: $9 billion in the 12 months ending in September alone.

2025 was like the “Battlestar Galactica” episode where the Cylons attacked every 33 mins.It required adjusting our way of thinking, of fighting, our imagination & our willingness to take risks. It required asking people who had done a specific job a specific way for a long time to do it differently.

I did a lot of work on my office today to make it more like what it was pre-pandemic. Excited to have my reading spot back!

I spent a few hours decluttering/ cleaning my office, finishing phase one of a reorganization that should basically return it to its pre-pandemic state as a relaxing place. I have to wait until after Christmas to start phase two because it’s currently where all the Christmas presents are stashed

I did 40 legal wall balls at the gym this morning. Then I came home and knocked over a bottle of ink while attempting to fill a fountain pen. You win some, you lose some.

I went through all my piles of books today and sorted them and this is the remaining TBR situation, nonfiction on top, fiction in the middle, and poetry on the bottom.

I’m flying a little close to the sun trying out a new recipe for Thanksgiving. Will I end up like Icarus? It’s got potatoes, sour cream, and cheese as ingredients so I feel like my odds of survival are good.

I’ve had a very, very, very long week but it has also been book-heavy. Tuesday I went to a Zoom discussion about book awards. Wednesday night M and I watched the livestream of the National Book Awards. Tonight I went to the student book club, where we discussed both Shatter Me and Gravity’s Rainbow…

This morning at the gym I got my knee to the floor on all the sandbag lunges, but the really impressive part, I think, is that I then got back up. Yes, everything is sore.

I played around with zine templates today. I was really excited about a one page version, only to discover upon printing that it was for A4 paper.
