I'll post about TTRPGs, wargaming, and news because that's just unavoidable these days on this account. Really into wargaming, I own a bunch of 15mms and currently doing a 6mm project

It reads "ICE OUT OF MN" "FOR GOOD" with the names of those killed by federal agents.

In the “good old days” there were NUMEROUS songs about the excitement of getting with girls who were only seventeen: by the Beatles, the Stray Cats, Winger, etc. “My Sharona” was about an actual 17-year-old that the lead singer was dating at the time.
We really have come a LONG way in a pretty brief amount of time as a culture on “oh, maybe it’s actually creepy and gross to incessantly perv on teenage girls everywhere all the time.”
there were multiple different countdown clocks until the Olsen twins turned 18

reddit had its infamous 'jailbait' community online until late 2011

all of this shit was just out in the open, it was awful

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

The unfortunate trend we’re seeing is the emergence of ultra-paranoid opsec culture obsessed with controlling who is listening to and talking about rapid response, as if it’s a guerilla network. It isn’t, it has never been, it never could be. This paranoia will ruin the system if left to run amok

The guiding principle of Minneapolis rapid response has been to assume all channels are infiltrated and allow participants to engage in accordance with their own risk appetite. This principle is extremely effective because the risk is low and many of us joined. We overwhelmed them with numbers.

Guys if feds are getting your info it’s because they’re in the open signal chats that anyone can join by getting sent a link by any of the 800+ current members. They have access to the exact same info as any member, including myself. That’s what “this is an unvetted channel” means
You’re leaking info of other legal observers to the Feds, you POS. We know it’s you

it’s so funny that people post this OPSEC shit on Bluesky, a website that is by design trivially easy to scape and data-mine.
My dude, Selma marchers did not face a security state with the capability of mass surveillance and data collection through highly sophisticated tools that do not require human review to record literally everything you do at a protest for use in a potential prosecution/detention.
I’m so glad you went. I had many people ask me - “is it safe? Should I leave my phone and ID at home? Do I need an exit strategy?”

We’re building this bizarre and paranoid civic culture based almost entirely on miasmatic online fear endlessly feeding itself. Selma marchers didn’t even mask!

Interesting also that Signal paranoia started at the exact same time Kash Patel announced an investigation into terrorist groups on Signal--you know, the way someone serious about a sensitive FBI investigation might do

They're trying to get people off Signal because Signal groups are effective
i can confirm the chats I’m in which include renowned security specialists - people who actually advise on how to protect your comms from authoritarian dictators for a living - also think this outburst of paranoia about Signal is really weird and unwarranted
every Signal chat of laypeople is losing their minds over the wildest opsec advice imaginable and every Signal chat of security professionals is like “dude wtf”

The vast majority of problems can be avoided by not being foolish, being aware of your surroundings, and using common sense

The whole fucking point is to accept personal risk as yourself and dare the state to do anything about it.

You are there to be seen, known, and heard. Not to cosplay as an antifa super soldier.
If you've given biometrics to TSA (Pre-Check and Global Entry members) and you plan to attend a protest, you should wear a medical mask.

A lot of people aren't going to like to hear this but this is correct. Protesting is suppose to be a very pro-social thing in which you put yourselves out there with others to show you are a solid community that will stand up for each other. All the focus on "opsec" feels anti-social to me.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.

I get tired of saying it, but I’ll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people.

But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.
The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.
