📌 tl;dr: methylmercury (MeHg) and ethylmercury (EtHg) i.e. thimerosol, are two different things. MeHg can be toxic. EtHg, in amounts used in vaccines, has not been linked to toxicity

A vaccine containing 0.01% EtHg (the highest concentration used) has ~ 25 mcg of mercury per 0.5 mL dose. This is roughly the same amount of elemental mercury contained in a 3 ounce can of tuna fish.
