It has a crracking roguelike* mode in a dungeon called The Dark Tower. You’ll need a Dwarf to survive all the traps, which are a bit meaner than the first dungeon. And you can increase the difficulty by picking wonky classes like the Summoner.

The Hero Quest-like-a-thon continues with Arcane Quest HD.
It’s… literally Hero Quest, but more gear, spells, classes, and dungeons. I’m willing to forgive the movement dice for the commitment to the bit.
Wee bit janky, but nothing that’s a deal breaker. Quite fun so far. Free demo too.

Another Hero Quest-like: Dungeons and Dragons Battlemarked.
It streamlines much of D&D into 2 cards per character-turn, gaining cards as loot and burning them to level up. I really like what's going on here with big maps to explore, synergies, and little skill checks here and there.

Anyway, I've completed the campaign solo with 2 characters and it was pretty good.
Maybe I'll get to play it multiplayer someday, though it will have to be a Steam remote affair as I have no couch to co-op.

There's a mission later on where they turn on you and you have the option to save them. I felt this would be remiss.

Solo-ing Sunderfolk's campaign with just 2 characters is quite fun.
The choice of barbarian and wizard counts for a lot because if I wasn't able to teleport / throw people off the map I'd be stuck.
Maybe when they get one-shot mode in I'll be able to convince some one else to join for a session.

A nice roguelike walk around a forest:

(Would happily play a variety of games using this sort of UX.)

A little strange that they didn't make the engine a mess of edge cases that also requires more artwork.

(Electric Bastionland hasn't arrived sadly, but after Royal Mail trolling me every day of this week what should I expect)

After seeing the Alien: Earth trailer I'm wondering if one of the writers owns a copy of Rifts: Atlantis.

Blacken Slash is providing a pleasant blend of traditional and puzzle roguelike.
Wasn’t so sure about percent modifiers and random damage, but the variety is flavourful after a decade of 1 hit point trades.

I think game ideas have gravity, and are pulled towards other game ideas to create the omnigame - a point in idea space that promises too much to exist.
I think it's fine (and fun) to armchair design, but exposure can raise idea-mass to dangerous levels.

Going through Apple Arcade as my trial runs out soon, so I tried Patterned.
It’s quite nice but also a bit disappointing as I’m old enough to remember Pandora’s Box, which had the same puzzle with overlapping pieces and no guide. Much harder.
Sadly published by Microsoft, so very much dead.

Rogue Trader is pretty decent so far.
I'm liking the simple x-com-esque fights. The officer class is fun (like a bard-cleric). And the setting is, well it's Warhammer, which generally lifts any average writing above mediocre.

SAD GOD news:
st33d.itch.io/sad-god/devl...
Surface-building-shots now clear existing surfaces like spikes.
There's a new sticky surface shot.
Not drawn the last of the bosses. Also considering persistent levels with the choice to reroll.
Out of beta any day now.

Not a Charizard fan or a Moltres owner, but at least the cards are pretty.
