It’s strange. I always assumed the one exception that makes us move in Januray is that a summer target is about to move somewhere else (e.g. Diaz).

You have to assume that the strategy has changed or the wage/sign-on fee demands got extortionate.

Egypt‘s poor squad really stood out among the 4 remaining teams. Just a different class of players.

I still wonder about bringing in a guy low on aerial duels to a team that’s bad at defending set plays but truth is as a business move getting him on a free makes too much sense. Specially if we lose Ibou.

I think that’s about the movement off the ball. We’re statues in their box.

I’m starting to think Florentino’s deal with the devil has a clause that only allows their black magic to work if Carlo or Zizou are in charge.

What might a dead cat bounce be in this context? Excuse my english

I’d much rather keep this place as a quiet hipster corner where everyone gets along. Leave the rats in the rat nest.

Has there been an exodus from the bad place recently?

In my case, I may have mistaken his tactical adaptability as capability to switch his style to a high-possession attacking one. So far he hasn’t evolved his football to suit a more ambitious side. Maybe he doesn’t need to and builds a Simeone side. Maybe he won’t last the season. Who knows.

I will say though. Long term, the idea for the attack, is Wirtz, pacey winger, and a forward. So, even if it’s Wirtz, Gakpo and Frimpong, there should be some level of cohesion, and yet our attack in transitions look very disjointed. And I don’t think Mo or Isak being back fix that.

Yeah, first time in a while we weren’t consistently on the back foot. But his point about how we still barely created anything and the disjointed attack is valid IMO
January 9, 2026 at 12:53 PM
Haha yeah Saka has tended to get the better of Robbo as well. And Martinelli of Trent as well. Glad to see we’ve improved in some regard at least.

I’m not against stopping to consider Man United as a big team but surely Chelsea have to qualify.
January 8, 2026 at 10:58 PM
Been so since the West Ham game IMO
January 8, 2026 at 10:34 PM
I assume that Jesus wasn’t fit for a full 90 cause I’m positive Arteta would have went with that otherwise. Him or Kai as the f9 with Saka and Martinelli attacking the flanks have given us trouble in the past.
