Increasing signs show the regime in Washington is moving to strip away legal barriers that prevent use of military force inside the US for political purposes.

While important details remain unclear, it's time to reach out to all servicemembers with this message :

Hey Senators @murray.senate.gov and @cantwell.senate.gov, your constituents say thank you for fighting to protect our healthcare and standing strong against the Trump Shutdown!
standude-juststan.bsky.social
Yes.

And it can happen in Washington, or any other state that isn't prepared to take direct action against unlawful force & rogue federal agents.

Mayors, governors, and senators need to stop merely reacting, and start using every available means to protect citizens & communities.

Such actions fundamentally betray American values. Terrorizing communities to push political beliefs and agendas is, by definition, terrorism. Share if you agree.

I know. The worst ones will always be around, doing & saying the worst - no matter what.

So we get angry & exhausted, but we keep going. You have every right to say everything you did. All I'm saying is that anger is a tool - and works best if you know when to pick it up, and when to put it down.

It's the first Monday in October which means the Supreme Court is back in session. Here's my preview of all the cruelty and evil they will visit upon us this term.

Okay. You made yourself clear.

But none of this will keep me quiet, or off the street, or make me run away from lies or hate, or stop me from reaching out to people like you.

Be strong and take care.

We're all being affected by it. And it's true that on the extreme right there's an isolated group beyond reason with no interest in dialog. But that still leaves everybody else.

So yeah, speak up and call out all the selfishness & hypocrisy & lies. But to win we've got to break the hate.

True things. I get it. I feel it. I've thought it.

But remember this is true too -

Each day it's more clear the regime in Washington is abusing power by sending federal agents & troops to communities where no emergencies exist. Crushing dissent is the real aim.

It's time for governors to use their own rules & their own power, to protect their own people - with their own Guard :

Using the courts to expose and block unlawful abuse of power is critical. But states facing direct threats to public safety from federal agents need to do more.

It's time for governors to use their own rules, and their own power, to protect their own people - With their own Guard :

In the end I think it will come down to what people demand from state and local officials to protect themselves, and their communities.
standude-juststan.bsky.social
It's a lawful process, already in place, with more than enough justification to protect the public.

My own question is, at this point why should anyone believe he won't make up whatever excuse he wants - to do anything that suits him ?

Bullies prey on weakness, not power.
standude-juststan.bsky.social
Agreed.

Illinois, Oregon, California, and any state dealing with these abuses need to stop waiting for the regime in Washington to make the first move. It's time to start using their own rules, and their own power, to protect their own people - With their own Guard units :

Good reporting.

But the other story is about governors and mayors waiting for the regime in Washington to decide their next move for them - Instead of using their own rules, and their own power, to protect their own people, with their own Guard :
standude-juststan.bsky.social
Okay. So we're all safe for now ... until the next court order is ignored & the next law is broken.

Okay. So we're all safe..
until the next law gets broken & the next court order is ignored.

What I see is California & other states waitiing for the regime in Washington to make the first move, then reacting.

Why not use your own power, to protect your own people first - With your own Guard ?

So, what do latest details show about the actual "criminal and domestic terrorist threats" to US cities ? Is federal intervention really the solution, or is it part of the problem ?

Right.

And not just mayors but also governors & members of congress.

This kind of mutual aid is absolutely necessary now, for exactly the reasons you note - Defending communities & protecting citizens.

It's coming late, after the usual hand wringing from Dems & progressives. But not too late.

Nope. Bogus claim.

I get the righteous anger, and share the frustration over the obvious phony denials & lack of transparency. But reposting stuff like this doesn't help.
standude-juststan.bsky.social
No.

Lawyers & judges cannot stop facism, when the highest court in the land serves and rewards tyranny.

But The People can.

No one should underestimate how deeply corrupted this Supreme Court really is - or think that ordinary citizens, as voters or in juries, will tolerate it for long.

Trump’s masked gestapo just shoved a Common Defense member and Air Force veteran to the ground and arrested him for peacefully protesting in Illinois.

The lawlessness of this regime must end — and he must be released immediately!
