Any Hebrew/Yiddish word with a ch has the same pronunciation, which is not like chair or church. The closest pronunciation is the ch at the end of ‘loch’. Kind of a back of the throat noise.
The most accurate spelling is Chanukah. I have OPINIONS about its use, especially in the uk

A tiny story
Kris hates his job. Hates it with a passion. Hates it so much, that some days, it makes him want to tear his beard out in frustration. He hates every aspect of it. He especially hates that, as the 'big boss', which is what his staff call him, he never gets a day off. Not one. In as long as he can remember, he has never had a day off sick. Never had a holiday. No. He's at it 365 (or 366) days a year. From dusk til dawn. The customers expect it of him. Not that they're grateful. He doesn't want it to be this way. He would love for someone else to take over. Even for a year would be nice. He could see a bit of the world. Get some sun on his bones. But no-one ever volunteers. Oh no. They all just expect it to happen around them. The customers know he runs the show, and would hold him accountable if it all went belly up. Which it inevitably would if he left any of the little people in charge. Even just for a day or two. Then they'd stop using him. And who knows what would happen then? To him, or the workers. So, like always, Kris sighs, and heads off to get ready. He struggles into his suit, which has grown snugger round the middle over the last few years. He daren't ask the Mrs to make him a new one though. Not after the debacle of years ago, when he had to change the colour to make sure he was still recognised. She was furious, particularly because red is not his colour, apparently. Something to do with making his already rosy cheeks more prominent. The old blue used to bring out his twinkly eyes, she'd said. Dressed, he stomps down to the garage to get the delivery vehicle warmed up. It's been loaded up for him, so at least the workers are useful for something. He settles into his seat, adjusts his hat, clears his throat, and, with a flick of his wrist, sets off. As he disappears into the distance, there is the echo of his voice Most wonderful time of the year. My eye!'

Screenshot of a post: ... I married my wife on Halloween in 2021. We're platonic. We had been friends for awhile, it was the middle of the pandemic, and we got to talking. Neither of us had had romantic relationships with either gender work out. We wanted the same future. She had great insurance, I have a great personality. She proposes with a candy ring, I said yes and ate it. It's been 3 years. We have a house in northern Wisconsin, 2 cars, 6 cats, 2 dogs, and a BABY. We had a baby girl in February. We go out for brunch on Sunday mornings. We have so many couple friends and single friends. We go to each other's work parties. We attend weddings and funerals. We have our ups and downs. We have our fights and our makeups. This is a marriage in every sense of the word. We're just two women. And we're not having sex with each other. Honestly, not having to maintain that part if the relationship is a big reason why it's even working. That and we have a similar level of cleanliness.
