Sweet Griffin is looking at end of life care. Within the next week or two, I'll be scheduling his euthanasia.

I call my ball python my emotional support snake. She gives me great comfort when I spend time with her, and when she sits on my shoulders she calms me like a weighted blanket. I love this girl so much

Well, at 9:30 CST, TikTok officially went dark. Boy howdy do I feel sad... all of the content, the entire community I've come to know and love with these reptiles...I only hope it gets back up again...

Be sure to follow me on Insta and YouTube as well!

Griffin the Carpet Python showing off his semi-arboreal nature by perching on his branches and basking.

Note: I'm in the middle of moving and will be lax in posting anything here for a while.

If ever there was an underrated snake species to keep as a pet, by far the species in the genus Antaresia would be it. It's a group of 3-4 snake species originating from the northwestern portions of Australia and are the smallest python species, generally getting no bigger than 4 feet

We all need this as a reminder, to keep us in check.

If you were to ask me which is the better first snake to keep between a ball python and a corn snake, the two species that are most commonly seen and sold at pet stores, reptile shops, and reptile shows, I would pick the corn snake. Why is that? A thread.

This, but with videos/books/fanfic chapters/whatever.

I've learned that if someone (re: me) loves something enough to create it, there's someone else who wants to consume it.

Rosy boas are, in my opinion, a very underrated pet snake. They are one of two species of boas found in North America, the other being the smaller rubber boa. This species has some unique care requirements, but have fun personalities to make them wonderful pets.

Ball pythons are often labeled as a great first snake for new keepers due to their usually calm demeanors and reasonable size. However, much research should be done to make sure that this is the right snake for you and you are truly able to care for it. /1
