He went after legal immigration immediately on his first day in 2017. It really is exhausting that people are stuck in a state of rediscovering this. They never made it a secret!

Her immigration platform in 24 was to dismantle the asylum system and increase ICE/CBP budgets. She made no real case that immigration was good. And this was after she said border crossing should be decriminalized in 2020 (shoutout to Julian Castro)! It was a major lurch to the right.

It’s also a 30 foot wall that maims people all the time. It’s drones, cameras, bugged cell towers, ground sensors, thermal imaging… and a USBP that has extra-constitutional authority and regularly goes on vehicular killing sprees with zero accountability.

It’s been a militarized border and it’s been a humanitarian disaster for a long time now. This all needs to be dismantled.

Judges don’t create immigration paths either. Laws do that. And ICE and USBP don’t “process claims”, they deport people.

As the candidate for the presidency she supported a bill to increase immigration detention, increase ICE/CBP budgets and personnel, heavily restrict asylum access, and build more border wall. That was her decision as the candidate.

Ok yeah let’s look at the WH characterizing their own bill. I’m honestly fine with that. He calls it “the toughest” and touts the support of the BPU (YIKES!!!). The lack of any support from immigration advocacy groups is pretty loud on the page already.
