My dog is really ready for this snow to be gone.

For someone who can't rotate objects in their head, I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of where the yarn goes when I knit. I tried this version of the tubular cast-on and I absolutely cannot understand how it works. Magic? 🧶 #knitting www.interweave.com/article/knit...
Two Cast-Ons for Ribbing
Learn two cast-ons for ribbing, the alternating long-tail cast-on and the tubular cast-on. Both flow beautifully into knitted ribbing.

I'm taking The World's Dumbest AI Training and the presenter keeps using "touch grass" to mean "touch base" and I hope he gets eaten by a bear.

Last night the snowplow came around 1 and I got up to look at it and it's the tiniest plow I've ever seen, about the size of a forklift. Which explains why it was plowing our block for over an hour. Street is barely better, and it pushed the snow up against the cars so now we're even more stuck.

I give up. I hate working with this yarn, I don't like having to concentrate on each stitch of each row, the tiny cables are annoying, and even if I finish this glove I'll never make a second one. The file I was using to track rows got corrupted, and I just dropped ANOTHER stitch. Frogging. 🧶

Some truck drove down our street 5 times at 3 am, so I thought they were finally plowing the snow, but none of it seems to have been removed, so now I'm confused. (Also stuck.)

Whenever I see Drake I'm happy that experimental stem cell treatment got him out of that wheelchair. Turns out when I see Jeff Conaway guesting on an episode of Murder, She Wrote, I'm happy that Bobby's acting career was working out for him.

Audiobooks are great and I love them. I just realized 75% of the way through this book that they're saying "pers"(onal) "com"(municator) and not "pursecom," which was a very confusing visual.

Finished ravel.me/point-edward.... I've been so sick this was exactly the amount of complex I could handle between coughing and naps. I made them more armwarmer length so they'd fit down the big sleeves of the sweater, extreme coziness! #knitting 🧶

I wanted to use a pillow for the background of the pictures, but my dog saw pillow + lap and was certain it was for snuggling purposes.

Oh, do I get a nice long weekend full of terrible weather? Better get sick so I can't even enjoy the good parts of that. Had to put Meisi away for a bit because I can't deal with that amount of chart right now, I'm working on ravel.me/point-edward... instead. Using up the leftover sweater yarn!

I'm gonna need y'all to not make cabbage the new health food trend. That's how I afford to eat, and it's already up $.10/lb just this year.

Yesterday I cast on for ravel.me/meisi. Had to rip back something like 15 rows, and there are still some messed up parts but nothing I can't live with. This yarn (knitpicks Stroll) is a very bad choice on my part, it's way too splitty to do these stitches in. #knitting 🧶

2 years ago today we got our little doggie! He was picked up as a stray so we have no idea about his past life, just weird clues that we've put together. (His old family were exterminators???)

Took this weekend to learn brioche stitch. So squooshy! They'll look better once they're blocked, but I feel like I understand how it works now. 🧶 #knitting

Finally finished! ravel.me/holla Holla Hoodie. I will never knit another seamed sweater again, it nearly broke me and the best I could do was still bad. BUT the hood is exactly what I wanted, it's super cute and the whole thing is very warm and snuggly. Details in alt. #knitting #knitsky 🧶

My dog has a heated bed because we keep our house cold, but sometimes just his toesies need warming.

It's official, I've spent more time on the last 20% of this sweater than the first 80%. Still have 2' of trim to knit and then sew on.
January 16, 2026 at 10:12 PM
5" of seaming and already ready to cry. I don't know why I didn't change this pattern to in the round up to the armholes, I really feel like I'm not going to be able to finish it and I literally only have the seaming left to do, it would be stupid not to finish now.

If I'd seen Heavy Metal as a tween in the 80s off someone's older brother's bootleg VHS like everyone I know did, maybe I'd feel some kind of way about it. As it is, I feel like I was just bored for 90 minutes on purpose.

I started these sleeves with 4 stitch markers. They ended with one stitch marker, two safety pins, and a piece of wool tied in a knot.

I figure I'm 80% done with this sweater, which in real life means I'm nearly halfway through.

I love that my dog's instinct is to cuddle when I'm injured. I just wish I could explain to him that it's the opposite of helpful to snuggle a fresh tattoo.
January 9, 2026 at 9:42 PM
I was really hoping I'd finish the sleeves today but I have a solid 3 hours left. I am past the in-the-round part though, so that's something.
