Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, General Gronewold says if they are federalized, that he will advise the Title 10 commander to utilize National Guard Troops to PROTECT protesters at ICE facilities. This is the right answer.

Trump’s threat to jail a mayor and governor is a direct assault on the rule of law. In the United States, no president has the power to imprison political opponents. Trump speaks as if he were a dictator — and that’s exactly the danger.

Authoritarianism doesn’t arrive all at once. It creeps in under cover of “order,” cloaked in uniforms, justified by fear.

OPB reported that, in court filings opposing the Guard deployment, police noted the night before Trump’s post that the ICE facility protest had “8–15 people at any given time,” mostly “sitting in lawn chairs and walking around,” with “energy…low, minimal activity.”
