Stupidity. Stupidity is what's happening. As if it's not obvious after the last term he's in charge.

All budgets must go to Golden Dome and cheap low capabilities spam drones.

reasons including Dassault lobby & France was also a participant in Typhoon before bailing because of various but also some similar reasons. No matter how problematic Germans was & is, there's 2 multinational fighter programs to their name. French had one in SEPECAT Jaguar & that was long time ago.

That's because despite Germany being problematic, we also have proofs of it being a somewhat manageable problem most of the time with Tornado and Typhoon happening. Tornado was predated by UKVG that was predated by AFVG(Anglo French Variable Geometry) that the French ended up bailing for various-

Yeah but I don't think all of them online at once and even then, more launchers is always nice to have when you're relatively speaking stocked with ammo.

Honestly, IMHO, it's not the missile count that's lacking, it's the battery count.

it's a very neat vehicle.

Personally though, an up armored Fering Pioneer derivative with RWS up top for close protection/C-UAS IMHO is what the British Army should aspire to get as the base to replace Land Rover, then figure out if capabilities like C2 and ambulance is really needed in the- 16/n

is oh so eye watering. If it has a V-shape hull, climate control, and a cabin that's at least shrapnel and up to 50 cal protected, it would be perfect. But with that said, I have to point out Arquus Scarabée. It's a hybrid electric drive much like the Pioneer, but it has armored tub, 4-wheel- 14/n

then we start figuring out if we need overloaded versions of it for ambulance and C2 roles or strip it down for sexy SOF uses.

As a base, Fering Pioneer is actually the most interesting to me. I understand current configuration lacks a protected cabin let alone armored, but that performance- 13/n

an infantry battalion has C2 ability to cover the entire division anyway.

I think what's important out of LMV is to have a basic platform that can mostly go anywhere at a rapid pace with ease, is adequately protected, has long endurance(relatively) much like Humvees/Land Rovers of past, and- 12/n

An 8x8 truck in the vein of the HX series while LMV can act as the "picket", rapidly taking casualties from the hostile frontline and bringing them to the safer rear? Does a C2 version of LMV cannot exist by the addition of a wide area multifunction display for the crew in the rear seat to- 10/n

their performance qualities and further modifications to suit one's needs made you lose their attractive cost effectiveness.

A lot of this ends up boiling down to what you want to ask out of this LMV platform. A personal opinion of mine is some roles can no longer be filled by such light- 8/n

Deriving future LMV from a chassis available in civilian market, while enticing, also comes with its own issues especially since they are not really designed for military use. Making them armored robs some of- 7/n

A van/cab truck like option like the Bonetti F100X/Fuso/Ford Transit might be better in terms of capacity for payload & space but their longer, narrower wheelbase & high ground clearance that allows them to go through tougher terrain is a weakness factor in vehicle control attitude especially- 3/n

A very difficult task not only because of the modern requirements, but also because across the years the vehicles had been customized in various variations for all kinds of roles that would be hard to consolidate into one base platform.
