Not impressed with Duffy at the air disaster press conference. Buttigieg would have expressed some empathy, met with families…Duffy didn’t seem to know why he was there.

We have larger concerns heading into 2025, but I can't let go of the idea that the next season of Sesame Street could be its last. So I wrote about why the kids' TV institution is still vital after more than 50 years:
Can You Tell Me How to Get Someone to Save 'Sesame Street'?
With its Warner Bros. Discovery contract about to expire, TV critic Alan Sepinwall explains why the beloved children's series deserves to survive.

Outlander…hundreds of pages of reading in one short hour! Phew!

“Wicked” was perfectly cast and so well sung. I still can’t get over Cynthia Erivo’s facial expressions- she played this movie with her eyes as well as her voice.

You know how in the original lyrics to “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, the next line was “It may be your last”? That goes through my head every time they announce a new cabinet pick.

Anti-LGBTQ+ policies are life-threatening, especially for those living at the intersections of race, poverty, and disability. Ona churches must be brave spaces where God’s love shines loudly in the face of hate.

It’s Not About Bathrooms: Why ONA Churches Must Be Bold Advocates - UCC Open and Affirming Coalition
When a church adopts an ONA covenant, it’s more than a statement—it’s a promise to affirm, celebrate, and advocate for LGBTQ+ people in all their identities. It’s a call to be a brave space where peop...

Outlander is back! No spoilers, but I thought this episode was mostly well done. I think it was a bit rushed (a hazard of being a book reader) and I’m ambivalent about the voiceovers, but otherwise satisfied.

Great how scrolling Bluesky has no ads, no overwhelming numbers of Disney posts, chronic illness memes, no daily affirmations, (although clearly I have earned recognition from the algorithm for all these things), just ideas and exchanges, relevant news, pop culture nuggets…it’s a nice break.

Fifth consecutive year watching “Dash and Lily” on Netflix. Its soundtrack has become my default seasonal soundtrack. Highly recommend for offbeat YA holiday romance.

I wrapped my first gift of the season, so I guess it’s time to watch “Love, Actually.”

One minute you’re young and carefree, the next minute you find yourself as pledge-bait, watching the Rodgers and Hammerstein special on PBS.

Just watched “Rebel in the Rye.” I don’t know how seven years went by without me knowing about a Salinger biopic. It was kind of mediocre, but I like to be up to date on mediocre biopics.

Ok, Netflix, what do you have that is somewhere between “Hot Frosty” and “Monsters”?

Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.
The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.
