Interesting knock on all the "regular season means nothing to the players" in the Sixers and Rockets game last night. Maxey, PG13, Oubre, and Embiid all busting their ass to get an OT win against a Rockets team that was up to the challenge and we know KD is the ultimate competitor. Sixers now 24-19

Beyond that, Kobe Sanders and Jordan Miller are really breaking out this year and Kawhi doesn't need to sit for that to happen. More confident and, again, more consistent play is allowing Clippers to play a solid group they like and not overextend some guys. They are surviving losing Derrick Jones

Clippers just have so many long guys to throw at you that they mess up your offense in the easiest ways. Dunn on ball is a menace, Kawhi stops most drives coming at him and teams don't seem to try hard enough to go at Harden every possession. As long as they can rebound and make shots, they will win

Scoot may come back, but has been inconsistent with his play to this point in his career. Sharpe had been one of the biggest variance fantasy guys last year and now just continues to be someone they can lean on for twenty a night. Grant and Love scoring is enough to pressure teams to have to match.

The Blazers are 9-2 in January and there aren't many people who saw this coming. Clingan is better, Camara started hitting shots and is defending everyone to a very uncomfortable level. They are getting healthy and we saw a stretch like this last year. The difference is consistency with this group.

Weird narratives about JB being a regular season coach are still there. None of the Pistons are battle tested for the long run of the playoffs type shit. Better roster depth than the entire East is a huge head star. Cade probably sits twice this week and we will be awful to play against in both.

I like the JJJ option so much for the Knicks. I think his defense has slipped, but it is better than Towns by a landslide. Towns/Yabusele for JJJ/Clarke/Konchar/GG passes and gives a fresh start to some guys who can contribute.

This is actually Towns music according to some. Jrue and Grant for Towns and filler seems insane to me as Portland has most of what they need. You should be hunting Duop Reath if you are out of the Jerami Grant sweepstakes. With the volatility out there, I think Portland should trust their guys.

I think we all expected it earlier, but the increase in intensity in the early season for a team that doesn't rest guys is also a problem. They relied so much on Kolek in their winning stretch and his effectiveness is gone. Lots to unpack.
