i’m pretty sure it’s because PPP (yoon’s party) is technically tied to former president park geun-hye who was impeached in 2017. two impeachments in less than 10 years would cook the party. they would lose so much credibility that they refuse to risk it.

the lesson to me here isn’t despondency but to remember that many communities in the US (esp black and indigenous ones!) have kept themselves safe in spite of white supremacy and capitalism.
