After my depressing posts yesterday, here something brighter: a photo I took in March.

On a personal note, my dad has been in the hospital for a month after having several strokes. My mom is disabled & trying to care for him, & now she's without power in a damaged home with a front yard she can barely get through. I think it's safe to say I'm on the verge of a total breakdown soon.

(cont'd) power since 9:30am CST yesterday. Some areas of the city were mostly spared, but large swathes of the area are stuck with damaged or destroyed homes, crushed vehicles, and/or no power. It could have been so much worse, I know, but it's truly awful as-is. ❤️

(cont'd) another storm system moved in quickly afterwards, so a lot of the recovery has been delayed by heavy rain and flooding. At its peak, the power outages numbered about 50,000 homes, which we haven't had happen on that scale since 2007. Many people (including my parents) have been without 🧵

I hope all my #Springfield #Missouri & #Ozarks friends & family are recovering well. We had unusually devastating storms move through yesterday. I've never seen anything like it; it looks like a tornado hit my parents' neighborhood, though no one's saying there was one. To make things worse, 🧵

Life has been pretty rough lately, so I did a light Spring Cleaning in my office. Stepping in to my office feels so much happier now. Plus, I like my new letterboard sign 🙃

Guess I'll kick my feed off with this: apparently the bread from Bambino's (a restaurant in SGF MO) is a lovely, soft perch. Marvel certainly thought so. 🤦🏼‍♀️
