I don't care for a lot of action in anime. But the battle between Yachiyo & Ponko is probably the best I've seen since Cocona & Yayaka in Flip Flappers. (I know this is an older anime but I just watched it a little over a year ago)

I. Love. This. Episode.

Apocalypse Hotel E8 SPOILERS

I've had a lot of mixed feelings about this show. But god, this episode was just...it was incredible. These themes!!

The way work becomes our identity, having a disability, no longer being able to work, losing purpose/meaning, becoming depressed and lashing out.

Apocalypse Hotel - E2👌

This show is a perfect mix of heart and humour. I had a smile on my face several times this episode. 🙂

The only thing that worries me are moments that feel pro-AI, but I know the context of the show is different from the gen-AI of today.

Environment Checker Robot is just 🤣🤣

Finished E1 of Apocalypse Hotel. This show is great! It's already handling some interesting themes...purpose in life, failing at our jobs, holding on to hope.

Yachiyo is relatable. The way she needs to follow schedules, and she has a crisis when something unexpected happens. She's just like me...

Due to my own struggles with depression and OCD fueled self-loathing and isolation, I can sympathize with Nakamura. Despite her abusive behaviour, I can't help but care for her and want the best for her. It's hard work to heal and love all parts of yourself. I want to see her happy. +

"Everybody is connected...so we should all be friends."

This is a beautiful sentiment. The very fact that we're alive, breathing, experiencing all the sights and sounds of this world, all our joy and pain.

Each of us is a miracle. We're all special. Each and every one of us is deserving of love.

And their walk together afterward!!! The anime stretches it out for 6 minutes!!! It made me feel emotional.

It was only 2 pages in the manga!

Two outsiders. An unspoken mutual understanding. Finding companionship in each other. Holding hands.

It's such a shame the whole manga wasn't adapted.

So I'm watching the Flowers of Evil anime adaptation. And the classroom scene is just...it's perfect. This is art. The slow motion, the music. Watching these two vandalize the classroom, letting it all out...releasing tension to bask in their happiness. It's incredibly, indescribably cathartic.

E13 SPOILERS

This show is making me want to cry again. 😭

Watatabe exceeded my expectations. There were some episodes/scenes that felt weaker, but as a whole, this is a great series about mental health, suicidal ideation, and the importance of connections that keep us alive. 9/10.

Keep surviving.❤️

E9 SPOILERS

On a more serious note, Watatabe is really at its best when it's leaning into its themes of suicidality and the importance of social connections that help keep us alive. Both Shiori and Miko are trying to keep Hinako alive in their own way.

Falling into self-hatred and delinquency. Directing one's anger outward toward society, and eventually inward toward oneself. Self-harm. And eventually, the messy work of healing. Finding something resembling happiness.

I hope Nakamura can find peace. Despite everything, I have sympathy for her.

What is going on? My writing is getting more attention?

I thought maybe it was because I've been more active on social media this month. But I googled "Sound Euphonium Mizore" and somehow I'm on the front page.

I put so much effort into my writing so I'm happy it's getting more views/reads. 🙏

Watatabe E7 SPOILERS

I also loved this. Shiori looking out for Hinako because she knows Hinako will be uncomfortable bathing with others.

*sigh* I really hope Shiori is able to put aside her yokai nature. It would be wonderful if Hinako could have two girlfriends who both genuinely care for her.

Watatabe E7 SPOILERS

...and yet, Shiori insists that the only thing she cares about is that Hinako is herself. Her body is irrelevant as long as she's healthy.

This is SUCH a beautiful sentiment. 😭 It's times like this that make me want to love Shiori. Even though she's driven by selfish desires.
