Becoming more apparent that rather than engaging in cute negotiating tactics, they just don't seem to understand how Government works
Senior government figures very surprised that four Regional Independent TDs told Verona Murphy that they would only vote for the coalition on a “case by case basis.” That was not the agreed understanding apparently.

Ultimately you need incentives in planning to collaborate and deliver. At the moment the system in Ireland is biased to ‘do nothing’ and local authorities are not incentivised to challenge this. A clear issue is if Irish Gov pays for all transport, where’s the incentive to chase third party funding?

Why do we waste everyone’s time developing plans ABP and others know will be rejected when a collaborative system would make it clear what is / isn’t possible at the get go and any changes required during plan development

The O’Gorman vs Martin vs Harris scuffle on climate there was at least a bit interesting.

Simon Harris loves turning every discussion of climate into the “Greens talking down to farmers” - no need there. Makes everything climate a zero sum, confrontational game. It’s far too important for that.
