This morning I did a circular walk from Hillend via the valley of The Boghall Burn to Allermuir, Caerketton and back. #hiking #Scotland #Pentlands

“….average family wealth per adult in the top wealth decile and those in the middle (fifth decile)” Strange. If you mean tenth, say so but then is the 5th tenth the middle of 10? If you really mean “decile”, there are 9 of them but nobody is “in” any decile.

I used to apologise for coming from a small country. Then I discovered Luxembourg.

I spent seven very pleasant years in Luxembourg. I hope that you have time to visit the city.

Reading the abstract is a start but some don’t even bother with the title.

Coolish but there was no wind and the sun was shining.
Hadn’t been to Aberdeen in years but after a weekend there feel very positive about the city.

When I visited Unst in 1992, someone had written in the PO cum café visitors’ book “I knew Unst was an anagram of stun before I came here. I came and have been stunned”
A few lines lower in another hand “I knew Unst was an anagram of nuts. I must have been nuts to come here”

I can’t see the point of propensity score matching here nor how it would work in practice. Is there a paper?

Well. I get exasperated about this. The problem is that many expect statistics to be easy. Some then get annoyed when it isn’t. Mathematics gets a free pass it seems. I am still learning statistics after more than 50 years.

Had so many different files in different directories in different programming languages that were relevant to two papers I was writing that I had to create an index to them. Unfortunately, I can never remember where the index is filed.
