Don't forget Mike Brady. That made sense given all building in CA in the '60s.

If one thing is true across American history, it's that rural folk don't like being governed by city folk either--but they sure do like city dollars propping up their businesses and city taxes propping up their poor regions.

Excellent. The data center build out reminds me of the fiber build out, massive investments that only justified by a player no one saw coming: YouTube. Could an outside player justify AI, or are the AI companies building gardens with walls so high they can't be saved like that?

It's worth comparing the versions of "Crystal" on BUCK-NIX, RUMOURS and Stevie's version on the PRACTICAL MAGIC soundtrack.

Yes, Mar-a-Lago was Epstein's minor league club.

As bad as their record was and with the exception of the Tenn game, they were in position late to legitimately turn all their losses into wins.

Of they did everything they could to give away the UT game too.

Agree on The Swimmer. Great structure.

A family thing. The Gamgees work for the Baggins. But you've got a point. Were Bilbo and Frodo popular or just rich? A question to consider next time I read.

That last set of downs was brutal, especially with each bad throw requiring a change in strategy which required even tougher throws.

T&C was my gateway drug to Walton. I hadn't read sf/f in a long time, so I asked my ed asst, a big fan, for some recs. T&C was on it with the first Temeraire, City & City and Wind-up Girl. I didn't get T&C at first, but when I realized it was a Trollope novel with dragons I was all in.

The amendment added language to the graf re linking an unearned adv to other contracts. It said this would end 7 yrs from signing or pub (I forget which; I chose the one that was, coincidentally, 7 years from doing the amendment). It didn't erase the unearned. It made the book stand on its own.

As an editor at Amacom, I had an author whose unearned advance for one book, which sold poorly, kept her from earning out her other books, which sold nicely, so I created a sunset clause for the former to let her escape. Should be boilerplate. Otherwise authors won't continue with a pubr.
