Alabama had 717 murders in 2023, with a population around 3.5 million less than NYC.
If I could do my entire education over, I would have every novel set in England accompanied by a map of where it's set and a brief history of the place.
I think I could name a decent number of English counties but I might be 100+ years out of date given that I learned UK geography from 19th century literature.

I wonder if one could do a study of horses like Gladwell's look at Canadian youth hockey players to see if those actually born early in a year do better or worse than those born later the same year.

Everyone should watch this video and be ashamed that what Bush and John Yoo started by making America a torture state Trump and Miller have turned into a concentration camp state.
