(refraining from advice in case this is a vent and not a question, but curious about the context if you feel like sharing!)

jealousy feels so, so ugly when it's of someone you love so, so much.

living is wondrous and miraculous, I know, but it is also EXHAUSTING. like, I barely made it through an entire day, and now I have to do it again?

This is the benchmark I'm landing on too. My first therapist introduced me to "We do our best until we know better." I realized not everyone fills in the next part: when you know better, do better.

Do what you can when you can, and when you can do more, do more.

today's nuance: it's for the best that you left, but that doesn't mean I have to forgive you for leaving.

I don't need someone to write my book. I need someone to wash my dishes so I can write my book.

"you just have to have discipline and do things you dislike!"
listen, I can't even do the things that I DO like

something they don't tell you when you have ADHD or depression is that you're going to have to fight your brain to do the things you really want to do. it doesn't matter how much you love it, it could still be a battle somedays

those 30-minute ones in the middle of a video single-handedly drove me off the YouTube app and Google Chrome. the fact that i can't wash my dishes without pausing to press skip was INFURIATING

a surprising effect of hospitalization that I keep forgetting: people who used to laugh whenever I joked about my death now instantly sober up and say quietly, "that would be horrible."

Once in a while I get caught in a group convo that's like "You never know! When I was little I wanted to do [totally different profession]!" and I'm like when I was 10 I wanted to work in publishing, and now I work in... publishing.

I've been reassured that I'm more than enough. a bit much, actually

Last week I handled something badly, and instead of my usual crashout of regret and shame, I decided to handle something else better instead. 10/10 recommend and should do again. #WeeknightWriters

My all-time fav band, Yellowcard, retired in 2017 and meant it. Years later, when asked to find any small reason to live, I said if YC ever reunited somehow I'd hate to miss it.
YC's album, Better Days, is out next week, but this week I thought: we're in the better days now. #WeeknightWriters

Total number of times this year that I've felt glad to be alive: 2.
Is that bleak? I don't know, but... it's only September, and it's already 2 more than last year.

anyone else grow up not knowing how dysfunctional their parents were and still discovering it well into adulthood? I keep doing this thing where I mention a childhood memory that I think is funny or nbd until I'm met with stunned silence and sometimes a "my God, I'm so sorry"

It just hit me that my ADHD might be partly to blame for my overuse of em-dashes and parentheses??? I LOVE a good tangent, an aside, some cool lil supplementary info
