(3/3) Matsuzawa transferred to Hawaii, wasn't good enough to travel with the team initially. Grinded his way from the no. 3 kicker to no. 1.

Last week, at the age of 26, he hit a game-winning 38 yard FG on national TV.

(2/3) Matsuzawa spent two years working at Morton's Steakhouse in Japan to save enough money to fund his dream. Spammed clips to every coach he could find.

He finally got a chance at a rural JUCO in Ohio. Moved there speaking no English, was the only Asian student on campus.

At age 20, he made a goal to become an NFL kicker despite never touching a football. Started watching YT videos on how to kick because he didn't know anyone in Japan who could teach him.
