I have two jobs, angling for a third, plus freelance.

I will never own a house. I won’t be able to afford sending my kids to college. I have no savings, no retirement. I will work until I die, but at least then, my student loan debt will be forgiven.

Fuck, that all really hurts to write.

It cannot be overstated how influential Kurtzman was in the world of comics. His EC war comics, then Mad Magazine and other humor works, and his adult strips for Playboy all had such an impact. This book is an amazing source of info and peek at his art.

Ed Piskor was a massive influence on me. Got me off my ass to pursue some version of my dreams, got me back into comics, and got me drawing again. I am indebted to him forever.

Gettysburg Review getting shutdown is a travesty and all “cost-cutting measures” that don’t involve self-imposed salary cuts are bullshit.

I signed up for substack today, wrote 500 words, scrapped them, wrote a different 500 words, and then had a small anxiety attack.

Am I a writer now?

I’m into miniatures a la Warhammer, poetry, and philosophy. Hopefully that’s meaningful enough for you.
