Mrs. M's Mum, who went off on her jolly way in summer 2018, would have been 100 today. During the Blitz she did fire watch duty on her school roof, later worked at the bank of England before having two children & later became a JP. Here she is probably just before WW2 as a young teenager.

I was a trainee @sarahmiam.bsky.social! Went to London, went out for meal at a posh Greek taverna, stayed with mates, got up had brekkie then went to the tube to head home. Sat down, looked down and saw this. Mortified!!

Another sign popped up in my FB memories today. Probably not a place for @norwegiannaturist.bsky.social to visit me thinks.

Old dog and old cat were tolerant of each other. Old dog had enough in May 2019 & went on her merry way aged 14.

Dec 2019. The pup about 3 months old & the 10 year old cat sorting out the hierarchy. The old cat was superseded in 2021 by a new model.

I think, not long ago, @norwegiannaturist.bsky.social asked what our favourite signs were. This one just popped on my FB memories from 2023 taken on Pulau Ubin, a small island off Changi Point, Singapore Island.

Not had one of these in a decade or more. I like the occasional Guinness but prefer this. Cheers!

This one is from Alf's sketch book we assume a fire at Burnhope Colliery where he was listed as working as a "Painter" in the 1911 census.

Any thoughts what this image is about?

No but I drove one of these once. They didn't let me near it after that!!

A few of Alfred's notebook sketches.

It's been suggested he wasn't a painter who slapped paint on wood but an colliery artist. When war was declared he returned to Co. Durham & joined up in 2016. He was injured in summer 1917 & is pictured below in hospital. In spring 1918 he was missing presumed killed. He has no grave.

This is in a village along the way from ours. Am I wrong to think it's not right? Or am I just an silly old curmudgeon?
