Interested in software/creativity/physics/philosophy/ML. Recently finished MSc in AI at Uni of Kent UK and looking at ways to use it. Also working on .NET MAUI projects. Three published so far - one educational and two games. Educational physics sim next.
#PhysicsEducation app written using #DotNetMAUI now has working circular and straight dippers with variable amplitude and wavelength. Objects can be added and removed. Just need to fix the title bar and do load/save of ripple tank state so some standard wave phenomena can be shown.

More work on the next #DotNetMAUI app - an educational #physics game. Dippers, barriers and cross-sections can be moved around the ripple tank to create and observe various wave phenomena. Buttons at the bottom will be used to add objects.

Here's work on the next #DotNetMAUI app - an educational physics game. Check out those classic twin-slit interference fringes naturally emerging from the simulation.

My next app developed using fantastic cross-platform system #DotNetMAUI, will be Wordy Blob. Building a diverse portfolio of apps, from Geology (Plate Tectonics Simulator), to games (Maxwell's Demon and Wordy Blob) and on to physics education (Wavicle).

The next game developed using .NET MAUI will be WordyBlob.com. Re-using the framework from which Maxwell's Demon was developed, the #XAML grid control with scoreboard at the top. But now with letter tiles and an English dictionary stored in a #trie structure.

The .NET MAUI game is now finished and is in the review process in the Google Play Console. So, 14 day closed testing starts soon and then general release. It's called Maxwell's Demon.

The .NET MAUI game is getting there. Still needs more work on the gameplay.

The .NET MAUI game is getting there. Maybe another couple of weeks' development before submitting to Google Play Store. Still needs some work on the gameplay.

How do you get the red and blue balls into the right places? Another possible level for the evolving .NET MAUI game. Introducing big balls blocking little balls.

A video of the Win Forms utility app. I wrote it for designing the levels in the game - positioning the collections of balls and the various shaped walls that they bounce off. I'll put a devlog on YouTube at some point.

A partial #SolarEclipse as seen from South East England this morning at about 11am. You can see a sunspot top left. Using a Nikon D3300 DSLR, zoom lens and eclipse filter.

As with many games, designing the Maxwell's Demon mobile game means designing utility apps. I'm writing a Windows .NET Forms utility to create the layout files for the game's levels - placing walls and sets of particles.

Following on from plate tectonics, next app: a game, but still with a scientific theme. Here's some very early work.

The plate tectonics simulation app in progress. Using .NET MAUI and some work I did about 10 years ago when developing using a C++ based system called Marmalade. Here's a first look at it running in the .NET MAUI Android emulator. #mauiday #dotnetmaui #platetectonics

Genuary day 21: "Create a collision detection system (no libraries allowed)". Simple collisions between equal sized circles or spheres. Core code and explanatory diagram under the circles to which the code is applied.

Length of perimeter / diameter can stay 4 as the square-pixelated circle gets arbitrarily closer to a true circle and further from a square. But a bumpy perimeter is different from a smooth circumference.

Genuary 12 - "subdivision". Subdividing a photo into lines of roughly equal hue and then drawing bezier-curve-bounded shapes along those lines in an attempt to replicate paint strokes. I thought bezier curves would be as good a shape as any for this.

Video compression almost completely destroys visibility of the side-to-side wave movements of the 999,000 particles that aren't drawn extra large. To help with visualization, this is what I'm working on next, with arrows and a zoom view. The "Smarties" views!
