The American Dream means that if you work hard, you should be able to support your family and get ahead. For so many today, that dream is out of reach. That’s why I’m fighting in the Senate to lower costs and put families first.

That was the goal when public service earned votes, now you buy votes with money and power. You say whatever it takes to get elected and then use the power of the office for personal benefit instead of the common good. There are exceptions of course, but few and far between.
