Left is the river mouth with Dam in place, Right is the river mouth with the Dam removed. This is after only 3 years. The Salmon have already returned to spawn in the river. The Birds are already stopping here on their migrations, the wildlife has returned

In Washington State there was an project to remove Dams and Restore Wetlands. Salmon almost immediately returned to the rivers to spawn
