I found this book in my library from when I was working on Swedish. I didn’t read it then, but enjoying it now, reading & listening to the audiobook, both in Swedish of course . Lots of personal details about Napoleon. Herman Lindquist is one of my favorite historians .

Canada didn't force the integration of much of our economy w/ the US. No one forced US consumers to benefit from inexpensive high quality products from China. Now, suddenly all scrapped by a president whining that the US was "ripped off". We'll see if the new order is better or not.

I am privileged that people in countries all over the world work together by some magic process to bring me everything from food, to electronics, to little plugs for my book shelves. Why allow Trump to break this system?

Some think Trump & arbitrary one man rule is best. Behold the glulam beam. The inherent weak points of individuals are distributed broadly providing superior strength & resilience. One man rule doesn't work. Leads to errors & disasters. Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini & more.

Most of Canada's fentanyl, by far, comes from the US, originating in Mexico. More fentanyl flows north from the US, as opposed to south into the US. There is already lots of cooperation between Canadian and US police agencies on this. What is this fraudster talking about?

If risky behaviour, thrill seeking and peer pressure are important factors in starting people into fentanyl addiction, how can RFK Jr. be considered for the highest health related position in the US? Rather a bad model to emulate, no?
This whole thing speaks for itself. This guy is unprepared and untrustworthy. I'm voting no.

Speaking a foreign language I never know if the right words will come when I need them. Often enough they do. Sometimes they jump the track & I say شما (you) in Persian when I meant to say چی (what) because "what" in Mandarin is 什么, pronounced just like شما.

Just realized that only in writing systems I've written by hand (Latin letters, Chinese characters) can I visualize the written word when I hear it. I could try to write more by hand in Persian/Arabic, Cyrillic, Hangul, Kana, Greek but I prefer to just to read, listen &speak.

Reading in Persian I realize that while I needed the code to get started, now in my reading, I rely more on knowing the word or subconsciously recognizing the pattern. Non Persian words/names, even from a language I know, are harder to decode than new true Persian words.
