I think it was a great era for #F1 but there was hardly any racing on TV in the UK. As a teenage fan, I used to avidly wait for qualifying and race results on the radio and for publication of Motoring News and Autosport magazine which I'd read from cover to cover! 😀

After a true left wing budget. There's no pleasing some!

Plus sides to today: Two-child benefit scrapped. Largely progressive tax implications. Good market reaction. No big spending cuts. Nightmare prospect of cutting funding to net zero etc avoided. It's a left-wing budget. Those who say there's no difference between Labour and Tories are bananas.

The OBR chairman resigned after an investigation into the budget leak criticised the watchdog's leadership. Suggest you get your facts right.

Arresting them doesn't help the mother and children. Other countries have found workable solutions 👇. It's not rocket science.

In Belgium, if no agreement has been reached by the parents, the government decides how much the other parent has to pay and this gets deducted before the net salary lands in their account.
I never understood how this isn’t applied in the UK.

I don't think we should make excuses for them. There has to be a way of forcing them to contribute if agreement can't be reached.

Just because the CSA had problems doesn't mean we should just allow fathers to abdicate their parental responsibilities. A new approach is needed.

Is it just me or doesn't "the Dad does not contribute" jump out as a major issue here? Why are Dad's allowed to walk away without supporting their children?

I'm always optimistic. Anyway, the real poll isn't until Aug 2029. Plenty of time for people to pick up on & appreciate what Labour are doing for our Country.

New Survation poll. Have Reform peaked?

RFM: 29% (-5)
LAB: 22% (=)
CON: 18% (+1)
LDM: 12% (+1)
GRN: 11% (+3)

I think Labour's strategy is simply to do what a majority of the public wants. If that means occasionally reaching across into Tory/Reform 'territory' then so be it. As you say, the hard right will always hate them, but the majority middle ground, including centre right, is where elections are won.

An OBR official has confirmed that Reeves did not lie. Badenoch, Farage & other accusers should now consider their positions!
