Catholic weirdo + sound artist. Ringleader of Electric Freak Show and guy in the chicken suit. He/him
The soft acoustic textures, angelic vocal lines and harmonies, stringed instrument accompaniment, and dialed in atmospheric guitar tones all make this a hazy journey of love, deep feelings, and sky (2/2)

There is an example of each of these at different points in the album, where I both really enjoy it and where I feel underwhelmed, usually on the second example of each (2/2)

I can't say I'm "enchanted" by the project, but I'm fascinated with the atypical drumming and sound collaging that happens. It isn't even a menacing kind of noise either, most of the songs aren't in a minor key. It's just audio force and that's the best way I can describe it (2/2)

It's got a low production quality and the songs are goofy and about stuff like wanting to be a firetruck (not a fireman, but a firetruck). But there's also some musical and lyrical moments that really shine an odd truth in humanity or really click for me (2/2)

In a full project, though, I really get fatigued with the soft acoustic and solo voice texture. I think the melodies are forgetful and basic even if they're sung beautifully and it just kinda missed something for me to fully enjoy the sum of the parts (2/2)

A lot of this is just because this style of rap just doesn't gel with me, but I feel like this run time is unrelenting if you're not a fan of trap (2/2)

That being said, of course, I really like the content on here. If the vision were paced and unified better, I'd be inclined to score it higher, and I'm excited to see if future releases will only escalate my enjoyment of this group (2/2)

The project as a whole feels like visiting a forgotten, centuries old home with the spirit of an artist or craftsman that wills itself to still inhabit the space. It can get to be quite similar across the album, but it's such a beautiful texture that I'm hardly complaining (2/2)

It reminds me of a swirling, repetitive haze of video game nostalgia, hype DJ sets, and DAW creativity explosion. I think the packaging of this project in length and track order is probably the biggest crack in the armor, but what a showing for a project this ambitious (2/2)

Not to make comparisons between queer projects as a means to diminish or pin this project as derivative, but rather to bring to light the esteem I hold this record at its best, it reminds me of some of the more danceable Xiu Xiu offerings (3/3)

I do get fatigued toward the end, both interest-wise and my physical ability to hear some of these sounds-wise, but the solid first have really carries a lot of weight (2/?)

Beats you feel in your chest and melodic fragments that get stuck in your head easily
