While ripping on Oettinger and his team, DeBoer took a moment to say this Oilers team is better than last year. I fully agree. It is noticeably better than last year. It is a little slower than last year, for sure, and we do miss a few players we let go (Holloway, McLeod, Foegele, in particular)..

The 3 workhorses carried that load well. Nurse stood out really well. I thought Kulak looked a little unusually questionable at times, but all in all the big 3 got it done.

What a crazy win by the Oilers tonight. Have to give props to Nurse for breaking up two breakaway chances by the Blues tonight. I think both were in the 3rd too, with one of them happening right before the Oilers went the other way and scored GWG.

I don't remember seeing a score that high for a player.. definitely unusual, let alone for a D. Great game by Jake Walman. +3, superb pass to set up Hyman.. massive hit on Rantanen.. tasked in the late stages of the game /w Nurse to hold the lead and shut it down. Good game by Nurse too.
