A lot ttrpgs:
You are the chosen fighters. Your world is plagued by evil magics.

You are a regular person. Your world is plagued by too much feelings.

Discourse can be important, it can shape how we think, how we play

But for me I think it will never equal the joy of play and of telling stories that drives me forward

I'll keep making my niche games with joy and love, for those few people who might find joy in them too

Such different tones! I hope you enjoy them both.

Finally in a mood to get back into some solo games!

Playing these in the same morning is wild. Hard pivot from classical music to the Tenet OST

Thank you! I'm understanding from this that the game must mechanically disincentivise the desires of the self or incentivise acting in conformity with society's desires or both.

Hello, thank you for your thoughtful words! I have a question - how (if it does) does an expressionist game differ from a game that is simply about the struggle between society and the self (assuming that such a game fits what you mentioned in regards to character interiority)?

If anyone likes solo #ttrpgs, I have to recommend 'My Late Father's Correspondence.' It's a beautiful and deep exploration of memory, grief, family... Just gorgeous. I really hope for read and reply rpgs to take off.

Fantastic second session of @storybrewersroleplaying.com with @omnihedron.co.uk this morning - our mixed doubles brother and sister team lost in the semis, but reached some sort of bond as a family.

This is a fantastic game, with amazing techniques that just drive story. Sports with feelings ftw!

At long last, the latest #ttrpg has arrived from the @storybrewersroleplaying.com . Titled "My Late Father's Correspondence", it's a single player story told via the writing and recieving of letters. Always looking forward to diving into another masterpiece.

Thanks for supporting another one of our games! 🧡

This article is a very good write up of these important concepts!

Me too and for similar reasons! Ironically more agency also creates more immersion for me because it means less limits to where my imagination can go!

I will append the obvious and say that everyone at the table is of course responsible for treating each other's hearts and minds with care! And that's important!

But that doesn't change the fact that it tends to fall more heavily on the person running the game, especially if it's a new group.
storybrewersroleplaying.com
Running a ttrpg is harder than most folks credit, not because you have to make up stuff, but because you gotta manage 5 people's hearts & minds.

I think it's ok to be a bit scared of it even if you enjoy it. I am, even though I love it, cos I want to treat hearts & minds with the care they deserve!

I enjoyed checking out foil x ambition - such fun drama!

'Fight with Spirit' by @storybrewersroleplaying.com is great design. Do what the game tells youand the drama emerges. It encourages you to play hard, plunging your allies into trouble, to give you a greater chance of victory when it matters.

Next up, Jessica's former team, the Southbeach Sharks!

IPR has an amazing range and are doing great work! But I'd love to give creators 100% of my money if I can (or you know 95% processing fees are real 😆 )

Can someone give me a hint on where to head at Gencon to find the stands of gender diverse and /or bipoc rpg creators? I want to pick up their stuff!

Made it to Gencon! If you spot me please do say hi!

I will be wondering around most of the afternoon and look forward to catching up with folks.
