Yes, so many cool books in this! And yeah, "historical fiction" can be anything from 20 years ago to the dawn of time, so it's nice to narrow it down sometimes. 😉

...My excuse is that I've been moving, and doing other family-related things that have kept me busy and distracted. I doubt I'll hit anywhere close to 50K words this month, but I'm looking forward to getting back into a routine & writing again! #amwriting #writingcommunity

Well said. Your comment about writers distrusting one another because of AI really hit me. Community, camaraderie, & mutual support are so important in the writing life. Spending our time & energy policing AI, or even just being suspicious of potential use, is so draining & blocks creativity.
