it's probably of a piece with the fact that abortion is legal there now, but can you get one?

but we do so like to catastrophise around here. 😉

Policy-led evidence-making. Again. After all it worked so well with the Cass report; you all bought that one...

however you can also genuinely have autism and/or ADHD *and* genuinely be trans. so it seems worrying about overdiagnosis is still on the wrong track vs just being able to accept that both these things can be true and acting accordingly

@reactiveashley.bsky.social may correct me, but I believe all it needs is the Minister to sign into law a currently dormant clause in EqA 2010.

The judiciary interprets law: governments make it. The Govt can at any time legislate so that the SCJ no longer applies.

but they would at least have not done it themselves. now they have done it themselves. the fascists got their way, and these people, by capitulating, have their names all over it. they can wring their hands as much as they like, they did the deed.

there must be some cost to being a collaborator.

Bertold Brecht called one of his plays "The *Resistible* Rise of Arturo Ui". It's an important point. It, like all fascism including this, was always resistible. it just wasn't resisted, by the people whose task that was.
