“Dorfmeister” in English would be something like “champion of the village” so to call yourself that implies, in his case, that he won the electronica competition at a village fair. I don’t think “Kruder” means anything, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he won a few village electronica contests as well

Wow. I guess it’s possible with movies too.

Well, you don’t violate IP ownership rights. That’s probably a difficult lesson for a 3 year old to learn, but without a consistently applied legal framework, we’re living at the mercy of the violent whims of chaos itself.

My neighbor’s kid is always singing the “Let It Go” Frozen song at the moment and as a fan of free music, I couldn’t be happier.

This is one of the things that makes music special and whenever you’re lucky enough to be in a situation where you hear more than one piece of music at once, it’s important to really appreciate what a valuable experience that is.

One thing that sets music apart from other art forms is that you can listen to two pieces of music simultaneously. With other forms, you can alternate between two, but you can’t easily read two books at the exact same moment and you can’t focus on two different paintings at the same time.

If you’ve only read the Taylor Swift lyrics but haven’t actually listened to the songs, you’re not getting that it’s mostly done spoken-word through an octave down pitch shifter over 180bpm supersaw arpeggios and gabber kicks, and honestly works really well.

Yes, I think this is more or less the correct way to listen to all music. Good job, Swift enthusiasts!

are swifties okay

You need to listen to it once completely through while driving a car alone. Then you have to
listen to it indoors lying down. THEN you pick a few and listen to them WHILE you read the lyrics on your computer. You WILL find that you misheard some of the lyrics. DONT panic. Its COMPLETELY normal and healthy. DONT think about taylors life yet and DONT try to make sense of the lyrics and DONT panic if you dont like some of the songs at first bc your brain will LEARN to like them (evolutionary mechanism).
THEN, continue listening on loop as needed but have 2-3 that you sometimes just listen to on repeat. THEN re-emerge into the world and connect with others about their response to the text. THEN apply practically to your life. THEN examine how they fit into taylors. At this point you can start to lightly engage in online discourse if that feels healthy and safe.

A lot of people are going on about Taylor Swift writing “penis songs”, but I think this could be a misreading. Given her poetic songwriting style, isn’t it likely that “penis” is a metaphor for something else?

If the whole internet went down, I realize there would likely be some very serious short term consequences, but I would probably also let out a little cheer.

Don't let yourself get attached to any social media platforms you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.

I don’t want to sound entitled, but I’m getting pretty impatient waiting for someone to make dark, melancholy minimal wave covers of Avril Lavigne songs.

Also, Budokan Boys will soon be touring, so if you live in, live near, or have always dreamed of visiting one of these places, you should consider taking in the deranged spectacle of “The Ooze” in person.

Airports are the blandest, most corporate type of transportation infrastructure and in my opinion, they simple don’t deserve music.

And I’m not saying all fx are bad and we shouldn’t use them. Being a sound and getting chosen to go through a looper or a sustainer is probably pretty flattering!
strategictaper.bsky.social
How would you feel if someone accused you of being “too dynamic”? That would be hurtful, wouldn’t it. So I wonder how sounds feel when we put them through a compressor. Not very I guess. But maybe they’re just relieved that we didn’t use a “Bit Decimator” or something with a name like that.
strategictaper.bsky.social
I’m not trying to emotionally manipulate anyone but maybe artists should think about how sounds feel about the fx they use on them. For example, putting reverb on a sound is essentially saying “I want you to seem far away.” Do you think the sound likes that? Does that make the sound feel good?
