modern version of the allegory of the cave
This is why America is run like a business and citizens are reduced to being called “consumers”.
What does it say about this country that that the kind of open, rank bigotry Trump administration officials regularly express towards black immigrants apparently has no social cost because of the number of Americans who quietly agree or don't care.

I'm like 90% sure that's an innocent typo.

Ms rachel getting deemed as America’s top semite while an actual neo nazi is making inroads with mainstream media is definitive proof that the word has lost all sensible meaning and has been reduced to simply being a slur

They never teach it in school this way, but the American Revolution was just as much America’s original civil war than it was a war against foreign despotism.

nah I'm taking the other side here. voters need to be reminded of the role that they played in electing the gop. i'm no fan of hakeem jeffries but i think people need to be reminded that none of this happened by accident. the low-info median voter crowd needsto have their noses rubbed in it.
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

Jeffries says not to expect Democrats to pursue Hegseth impeachment over boat strikes
"Republicans will never allow articles of impeachment to be brought to the floor," he said.

Mainstreaming the “everyone is 12” theory
Kelly: He runs around on stage talking about lethality and the warrior ethos.. That’s not the message that should be coming from the Secretary of Defense… He runs around on a stage like he’s a 12 year old playing army. It’s embarrassing.

What's extra crazy about this is that Howard Nutlick's old firm, Cantor Fitzgerald, is currently selling tariff refund rights as a financial instrument.
(Bloomberg) - Costco Wholesale Corp. joined a fast-growing list of businesses suing the Trump administration to ensure eligibility for refunds if the US Supreme Court strikes down the president’s signature global tariffs policy.

Musk is much more autistic than people realize, he’s just been really good at impersonating what most people casually take for “normal”. Outside of having an audience to fool, he has shown that he consistently struggles to express basic human things, like love, compassion, and empathy.
It’s in fact extremely easy to give away money in a way that helps people.

Stuff like this is just what you say when you don’t actually want to help others.

Really starting to look like OU might be the biggest scam in academia.

I can guarantee you that no matter what's happening in Venezuela, Trump will not fully be made aware of what's happening.

Refusing to click the article but CNBC’s website is well on its way to becoming the next State Street. This whole “do this thing to be successful” shtick is trash and insulting to its audience.

There’s more of this in America than anybody’s comfortable admitting, and it’s been around since the beginning. There’s a unique and quintessentially American brand of sociopathy that’s in the soil, and up until now it’s largely been content sporing out invisibly in the wind.
On “The Necessary Conversation” podcast, Chad’s Trump supporter parents tell him the military should follow Trump’s illegal orders and kill everyone in LA if Trump commanded it — even with him and his sister in the city😳

The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

Twitter isn’t going away. It’s a monetized simulacrum of reality that makes a lot of genuinely awful people feel validated for being awful. There will always be massive demand for that.

this explains why the billionaire class loves this site, I’m sure many of them knew about this long before musk did.

MJT bowed out bc Loomer had something on her that would have become public during the primary. My guess is that it would have fucked up whatever grift she has lined up post Congress.

murc's law
there are a lot of poeple who believe the dems are in charge even when they're not in charge
Every day it becomes harder for my trans friends to get the care they need explicitly because Dems did jack shit while in office and now Republicans are free to push all the anti-trans laws they want, so don't fucking tell me that "democrats have done a lot actually," because they've done *nothing.*

Honestly the best way Yarvin can make the case against democracy is just to gesture broadly and point out that this is the product of democracy.
