Really enjoyed reading The List of Seven (1993) by @markfrost.bsky.social. A genre-bending mix of murder mystery, conspiracy thriller, supernatural adventure, Victorian alternative history & Sherlock Holmes homage. Surprised it hasn't been made into a film (yet!)📖

About the Painting
I returned to Japan this year (after exploring their famous Japanese maple tree fall colors), this time to experience sakura -- the Japanese cherry blossom. This pink weeping cherry blooms after the abundant white cherry trees, and their delicate blooms are more rare and, therefore, more precious. This painting captures a weeping branch of pink cherry blooms with thick, expressive brush strokes and subtle color changes.

Our research on video game loot boxes was cited in a recent Forbes article about Labubus. The article was a systematic review exploring the links between loot boxes, problem gambling and problem video gaming. In other words, purchases with chance-based outcomes. 1/2

This is a crucial healthcare issue affecting older adults. High levels of pain medication prescribing have generated widespread concern and controversy, and pose a pressing global health challenge.

Older adults are prescribed pain medication, such as opioids, more than any other age group, yet the complexities surrounding prescribing and overprescribing in this population remain poorly understood. Many older adults could benefit from a reduction in prescribed pain medication, alongside greater access to non-drug approaches for managing chronic pain. This project will enable us to develop a deeper understanding of these issues, while providing a greater voice to older adults living with chronic pain. In the future, this work will contribute to the development of safer and more effective pain management practices.
