I dont want to throw trans people under the bus. I want to protect them by coalition building and creating a bigger tent. We cannot win elections without more people. yelling at me or anyone else alienates people from the party and helps maga win. They actually want to hurt trans people. Not me

I’m sorry you think that. I might be a bigot and not realize it. I do want people to have equal freedoms and liberties. If your goal was convince me I don’t think calling me names or saying I’m mean is effective. Maybe we should try again to coalition build?

I think most people agree with newsom. If you poll people, most people don’t want trans women in sports. I personally agree and think if it upsets this many people, we should go let it go as a party.

Ok, fair. I did have to look him up. Have you read Chris Hayes book about the attention economy? I think about it a lot in this context and it seems like newsom did this to get everyone talking. If he interviewed someone from the left, no one would be talking about it. So he gets free publicity.

Democrats are also terrible messengers and horrible marketers. I take it as a good sign for newsom that so many democrats are disgusted. 🫠🫠 at the end of the day- those people will vote for him, he needs new people tho. Our party is losing.

But there is a huge swath of people who aren’t like that or are misinformed. I think newsom is trying to break through and persuade people of our ideas in a non-combative way. I do not think we should change the pillars of our party at all.

Thanks terry. I think there are sadly a lot of toxic purist who would rather let the right win than compromise in Thier own party. I’m not supporting a nazi. I would never, I just think what newsom is doing is smart if he wants to run for president/

But doesn’t each state have its own congress with state senators and state reps? And aren’t the rolls the same as the federal gov.

Hmmm, I can only say that he’s not actually in charge of the budget. I know that is cold comfort, I just don’t think it’s the governors fault. He’s more the message man. Congress holds the purse/sets the budget. What can he really do except vetos and executive orders (which are worthless)

Just in terms of getting things built. I think when you say regulations people immediately think environmental and I’m not really talking about that in San Francisco. Our regulation issues are more nimby/planning based. It takes forever and the rules are never cut and dry.
