Attending a funeral for a man who was my next door neighbour for over three decades. He was an utterly lovely man, totally friendly. During the summer if we were both sat in the garden he'd always offer to share a beer (once I was of age) if he was having one. He came from Poland. He will be missed.

On my way to the pub tonight, I came across a pair of glasses outside a house. I debated whether to knock on the door and alert them of these misplaced glasses, but in the end, my shyness got the best of me, and I left them where they were.

I'm watching Novocaine. It's a movie about a guy who can't feel pain, but the mental thing is that this is a real condition.
You might think it would be a good thing, but it's really not. Feeling pain is vital, there's stories of sufferers walking through glass windows without pausing.
