In New York City, we don’t back down.

Join us and over 40 other organizations on June 14th for a nonviolent NATIONWIDE DAY OF DEFIANCE!

They want us to think we don’t have power, and their recent escalations show that they know we do. And they’re scared.

See you in the streets. Bryant Park. 2PM

Just a reminder that when the military start policing, the people begin to look a lot like the "enemy"

In our unit on immigrant stories and the meaning of home, my students are excited to meet one of the authors we read. They're thinking deeply, connecting, and showing real hope for the future. Moments like this remind me that the next generation is ready.

Watching through the entire Fast and Furious series for the first time and at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dom Toretto hijacks a time machine, races a T-Rex, and still manages to deliver a heartfelt monologue about family before the credits roll.

Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do.

Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.
Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

The man hates America and is doing absolutely everything in his power to dismantle it, rummage through our pockets while we're distracted with picking up the pieces, and running away.

Americans, especially my fellow teachers and I, need to remind them that this only works if we allow it.
In Trump's quest to close the Education Department, Congress and his own agenda may get in the way
President Donald Trump is preparing to gut the U.S. Education Department to the full extent of his power, directing his administration to slash spending while pressuring employees to quit.

It's finally the end of January and I'm so tired already--but, it's a marathon not a blitz.

Good reminder to step back, recharge, watch trash movies, see friends, keep sane.

Tonight? Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Trump fired aviation safety officials, and within a week, planes started colliding. Actions have consequences, but you'll never hear him accept any responsibility.

With federal grants and funding coming under review, I can't help but think about the teachers that voted for the guy who will most likely be the reason why we lose support for our Special Ed., ICT, and English Language Learner programs. Can't wait for them to complain about the lack of support...

On day 2 of this circus, I received an email from a mom about making my classroom feel safe for her daughter, while later on dealing with an asshat of a student throwing up the Nazi salute...

The whiplash is wild.
