In April 2013, Amos Trust took a team to Bethlehem to run the first Right To Movement Palestine Marathon. Since then, we have brought people to run in solidarity with Palestinians, to demand their freedom of movement and to raise funds for our partners in Gaza and on the West Bank. The route of the Palestine Marathon in Bethlehem is shaped by the 8-metre-high Separation Wall. At times, participants run alongside the Wall; at other times, it forces people to turn back and run in a different direction. As there are not 26 miles of contiguous Palestinian state, runners start in Manger Square, run 6.5 miles to the edge of the Palestinian-controlled areas, and then go back to complete a half marathon. To do the full marathon, you have to run this route twice. While a small number of people run the full and half marathon, thousands participate in the 10km challenge and 5km family run. The Palestine Right to Movement Marathon has become a celebration of life in an occupied, hemmed-in town.

I haven't been on here in a year, but coming back today to say that this weekend (Nov 1-3) my partner and I are walking the wall for Palestine. 15km yesterday, national demo in London today, another 15km tomorrow.

The Presidency of the NLS and the WAP Council were very quick to show their Zionist stripes (on Oct 8th), but nary a murmur about the lives of Palestinians then or since. Mum's the word on the occupation! Mum's the word on those pesky "human animal" Arabs!

I've seen the October 14th march for Palestine in London being reported as "thousands of people." Bit of an understatement, phrasing it like that. Organisers say 150,000.

That incarceration rate doubles for Palestinian men — two in every five have been arrested. By comparison, in the United States, the country notorious for the world’s largest prison population, one in 200 people is imprisoned. Rights groups such as Amnesty International pointed out that Israeli civilians had been killed by Hamas. 'You have to differentiate between settlers and civilians. Settlers attacked Palestinians … We hope that Amnesty has international humility to send us more developed weapons to attack just only the soldiers,' Hamdan said. Asked whether civilians in southern Israel were also considered settlers, Hamdan said: 'Everyone knows there are settlements there.' 'We are not targeting civilians on purpose. We have declared settlers are part of the occupation and part of the armed Israeli force. They are not civilians,' he added."
